Our team at Flavin Farms has much more than the standard level of experience in the field. In fact, owner and operator Christina has been riding, training, competing with, and caring for horses for more than 40 years and counting. 

Over her multiple decades in the horse training and boarding business, Christina has worked with horses of all kinds, from brand-new foals to decorated competition stallions and everything in between. She’s learned firsthand how to provide each horse with optimal care based on its unique needs and personality, and this keen sense is shared among every staff member at Flavin Farms. 

Along with many years of hands-on experience, the Flavin Farms staff also offers a personal touch. 

Whenever a new horse comes to stay in our barn, we consider them a new member of our family and will always treat them accordingly. Our friendly staff also focuses on fostering close relationships with our horse owners and is always available to answer questions or provide expert opinions. 

Many of our competitors in the Los Angeles horse boarding community fail to prioritize a regular barn cleaning schedule. This can lead to the buildup of dust and dirt in the barn’s stalls and common areas. Unfortunately, many horses can suffer from allergic reactions due to excessive dust in the air, unpleasant odors, or flies hovering around. 

Cleanliness is a massive priority for us, as it is essential to the safety and health of our horses as well as that of our employees and visitors. 

At Flavin Farms, every area that our horses spend time in is cleaned daily. This includes all barn stalls as well as turnouts, paddocks, and training areas. In fact, stalls are often cleaned twice a day, and our barns receive regular power washing. 

Another common concern for horse owners is whether their horses will be safe and protected at all hours of the day. Our attention to detail when it comes to horse care and facility cleanliness doesn’t stop there: We’re dedicated to providing a completely safe and secure environment for every animal under our roof. 

This includes full fencing, state-of-the-art security systems, monitoring-from-home options for our owners, and on-site staff 24 hours a day. And in case of emergencies, the nearest vet clinic is only minutes away from Flavin Farms. 

While we would provide the most dedicated, high-quality horse boarding Los Angeles has to offer regardless of our location, the scenic views that our owners and visitors enjoy certainly don’t hurt. 

Our facilities are located right next door to Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park, a stunning area that features a variety of iconic rock formations and classic desert beauty. 

In fact, these rock formations have been used as backdrops for a wide variety of feature films over the past century, including multiple Star Trek movies, Planet of the Apes, and Galaxy Quest. 

When you board your horse at Flavin Farms, you won’t have to worry about getting nickeled and dimed for basic services. Some horse boarding facilities charge a base rate for boarding and add extra charges for necessities like bedding, blanketing, feed, and turnouts.

We don’t believe in doing business that way. Our focus has always been on the well-being of our horses, which is why the rate you pay will include all of your horse’s necessities, including those listed above and more. 

We feed our horses three times per day and also do turnouts and grooming. We view this level of care as the bare minimum at Flavin Farms, which is why we’ll never charge extra for these activities. 

Part of our dedication to the trust and peace of mind of our owners is the level of transparency between facility and client. Before you entrust your horse to our care, we’ll walk you through what a typical day will look like for your horse and show you exactly which services will be included in your rate. We’ll answer any questions you have and will never spring unexpected upcharges on you for our services.

Have an extra request for your horse’s care? We’ll find a way to accommodate them to keep your horse happy and healthy. For example, if your horse needs vaccinations, shoe changes, trims, or deworming while in our care, just let us know, and we’ll manage and schedule these services on an ideal timeline. 

Although there are other facilities for horse boarding, Los Angeles doesn’t have many that also provide expert-level horse training and riding lessons on-site.
